Sun
Films.
Up to 70% heat rejection. 99% UV block. A cooler cabin, protected interior and occupants — in a film you'd barely notice from the outside.
What Are
Sun Films?
Automotive sun films — commonly called window tinting — are multi-layer polyester films applied to the inside of your car's glass. They're engineered to filter specific wavelengths of light, rejecting infrared heat while blocking UV radiation without significantly reducing visible light transmission.
Modern nano-ceramic sun films use microscopic ceramic particles that are non-metallic (so they don't interfere with mobile signals or GPS), extremely clear, and capable of rejecting far more heat per VLT (Visible Light Transmission) percentage than older metalised films.
At BlackShield, we install Llumar and 3M films — both globally certified brands with proven heat rejection data. We'll recommend the right VLT grade for each window of your car, and guide you on what's legal for Indian roads.
Why Sun Films
Matter
Heat Rejection
Up to 70% of solar heat rejected — cabin temperatures drop dramatically. Less strain on A/C, better fuel efficiency, real comfort difference on Thane summer days.
99% UV Block
UV radiation that causes skin damage and interior fading is blocked almost entirely. Dashboard, leather, upholstery and plastics stay colour-true far longer.
Privacy & Security
Darker film on rear and side windows protects valuables from view and gives occupants genuine privacy without compromising outward visibility.
Glass Safety
In the event of glass breakage, the film holds shattered glass together — reducing the risk of injury from glass fragments in an accident.
Signal-Friendly
Our nano-ceramic films are non-metallic — they don't interfere with GPS, mobile signals, radar or parking sensors. Total performance, zero compromise.
Interior Preservation
Leather cracks, plastics fade and dashboards warp under prolonged UV exposure. Sun film is the most cost-effective interior protection available.
AC Efficiency
By rejecting solar heat at the glass, your A/C reaches target temperature faster and runs less — measurably reducing fuel consumption in daily city driving.
Legal Compliance
We stock and recommend films that comply with Indian motor vehicle regulations. We'll guide you on which grades are legal for each window on your specific vehicle.
How We Install
Sun Films
Film Selection
We assess your car, discuss your privacy and heat-rejection goals and recommend the right VLT grade for each window — front, rear and sides separately.
Glass Cleaning
Existing glass is thoroughly cleaned of all contamination, adhesive residue and debris. The glass must be surgically clean for the film to bond without imperfections.
Precision Cutting
Film is cut to exact glass dimensions — each piece custom-trimmed to account for door seals and defroster lines. No guesswork on fitment.
Application
Film is wet-applied to the interior glass surface, positioned correctly and squeegeed flat to remove all water and air. Edge sealing completed.
Dry & Handover
Film requires 48–72 hours to fully cure. Small water pockets that are normal during cure disappear completely. Delivery with care instructions.
