What is
Paint Protection Film?

Paint Protection Film is a multi-layer thermoplastic urethane film originally developed for military helicopter blade protection. Today, it's the gold standard for automotive paint protection — a virtually invisible shield that absorbs physical impacts your paint would otherwise have to.

Modern PPF has an elastomeric polymer top coat with a unique property: when a light scratch occurs, the film's surface tension "heals" itself when exposed to heat — either sunlight or warm water. The film returns to its original, smooth state without any intervention.

The Process

How We Install PPF

A PPF installation done right takes time. Here's exactly what happens to your car from the moment it enters our studio.

Initial Assessment

We inspect paint condition under multiple lights. Any existing swirls, chips or etching are documented and corrected before film goes on.

Decontamination

Iron fallout remover, tar and adhesive removal, clay bar treatment. The surface must be chemically clean for the adhesive to bond correctly.

Template Cutting

Film is computer-plotted to your vehicle's exact specifications using a DAP plotter. No blades ever touch your paint.

Application

Film is applied inside our dust-free, climate-controlled studio. Each piece is wet-applied, positioned precisely and tucked around all edges.

Cure & Inspection

Film cures for 24–72 hours. Final inspection under high-intensity lighting before handover with warranty documentation.

No. Optically clear PPF is essentially invisible when installed correctly. You may notice a very subtle texture change at edges if you look closely in certain lighting, but from normal viewing distance — even up close — the film is undetectable. Matte-finish PPF is slightly more visible due to the texture change, and is used specifically on matte-painted cars.
When removed correctly by a trained installer, PPF leaves paint completely intact. The adhesive is designed to release cleanly. If your car was correctly painted originally and the film was installed within a few years of manufacture, removal is straightforward. Very old films (10+ years) on older paint can sometimes be more complex to remove, but it's done without damage at a professional studio.
Front shield (partial front wrap): 1 day. Partial body wrap: 2–3 days. Full-body wrap: 4–6 days, depending on vehicle complexity. We will not rush a job. If it needs more time to do it correctly, it gets more time. We'll give you an honest timeline during consultation.
Yes — but we always recommend paint correction first. Any chip, scratch or imperfection that exists under the film will be preserved as-is for the life of the film. It's better to correct the surface and then protect a flawless finish. We include paint correction in the Full-Body Shield package and offer it as an add-on for all other packages.
Clear PPF is used on gloss-painted cars and enhances the paint's existing shine. Matte PPF has a satin/matte finish top coat — it's used to either protect an existing matte paint car, or to convert a gloss-painted car to a matte look without painting. Both offer the same physical protection and self-healing properties.
They do different things. PPF provides physical protection against chips and scratches. Ceramic coating provides chemical protection, UV resistance and extreme gloss. For the ultimate protection, we recommend PPF with a ceramic coating applied on top of the film — you get both physical and chemical protection. This is exactly what our Full-Body Shield package includes.
